What Is Screening
Screening is a preventive examination of apparently healthy people to detect diseases early, when treatment is most effective. In Kazakhstan, screenings are carried out under a state program and are free for registered residents in the relevant age groups.
Screenings Provided by the Polyclinic
- Screening for cardiovascular diseases and risk factors in adults
- Screening for cervical and breast cancer in women
- Screening for cancers of the digestive system
- Early detection of skin neoplasms (the polyclinic has held separate campaigns for the early diagnosis of melanoma)
- Fluorographic examination to detect tuberculosis
The exact age groups and examination frequency for each area are determined by the district doctor in accordance with the current screening program of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan — please check with your doctor or the prevention department.
